The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on 19th September 2020. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided that this year’s IPL will be hosted out of India. BCCI has announced the schedule for Dream 11 IPL 2020 recently and the news that it will take place in UAE across three venues in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai recently.

A total of 8 teams are taking part in the 13th season of the IPL which includes Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad. The opening match of this season will be played between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Sheikh Zayed Stadium, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Every year during November or December, all the players are auctioned for the franchises to acquire. The franchises retain some of their best players and acquire some new ones to make the team better. Out of these purchases, some players are bought with high amounts due to their current form and skill level. Players like Harry Gurney, Chris Woakes, Jason Roy, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Morris, Sheldon Cottrell, Nathan Coulter- Nile are the most expensive players of IPL 2020.
IPL 2020 is being conducted in UAE but the threat of Pandemic still looms over the event. while most of the players are ready to continue with the game, some top players withdrew from the tournament owing to personal reasons. Since these are great assets for the respective teams, their absence will be evident in the matches. Among the players that have opted out of IPL 2020 are Suresh Raina, Lasith Malinga, and Harbhajan Singh.
The matches will be played across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Daily matches will begin at 7:30 PM IST and weekend matches at 3:30 PM IST and 7:30 PM IST.
